Quality of Life Enhancements and Bug Fixes, June 2024
Review new features and bug fixes which benefit all authors.
The main attraction of our recent update is Laterpress AI, a new suite of idea generation, plotting, writing, and editing tools. In addition to those tools, this update included several new quality of life enhancements and bug fixes benefitting all users, which we'll detail below.
Quality of Life Updates:
Book and Collection Details Formatting - Book and Collection descriptions can now include paragraph breaks, as well as bolded, italicized, or underlined text. If you have a book that’s already published, you can edit the existing description to take advantage of these formatting options
Export to Word - Download individual chapters or your entire book as a word document, allowing you to continue editing or formatting with other programs.
Full Screen Mode - Write and edit without distractions!
Bug Fixes:
- Fixed an issue that prevented some users from changing a book’s price.
- Fixed an issue that could cause too much blank space to show at the bottom of a book page.
- Fixed an issue with custom numbering not saving properly in some cases.
- Fixed an issue where an incorrect number would show for the number of books in a collection while at the payment screen.
- Fixed a bug where reading progress icons detached from the thumbnail of the associated book in the Bookshelf.
- Changed wording on some sign-in prompts which incorrectly implied payment would be required when someone was reading within a free preview or reading a free book.
- Chapter versions listing in the editor now correctly matches the editor background chosen. (Light / Gray / Dark)
- Fixed an issue where a book’s details would sometimes not show when viewed from the About Author page.
